Christmas Photo Rut….The Tree protrait

Okay, so you want your portraits in front of the tree but they never seem to have the eye catching pizzazz! That is because you are doing it wrong. Move the subject away from the tree and use a wide open aperture to create a narrow depth of field. See the two examples below.

This one is what most people do.


This one has the subject moved about 10 feet in front of the tree.
